Friday Night Fights [Round 9]

Welcome back fight fans, to Sin City Nevada for another ground and pound edition of Friday Night Fights!   This week’s bout between Bionicle titans could determine the fate of Metro Nui and beyond. Without further preamble, let’s go to the tale of the tape.

Fighting out of the red corner, from the great Southern Islands, it’s Gamma-Raay, and his “Makuta“.

And fighting out of the blue corner, from beautiful Sweden, it’s Vampirebohrok II, and “The Hermit

As usual, constant reader, you are tasked with deciding the outcome of this pugilistic endeavor and determine who will receive a week’s worth of bragging rights.  Simply leave a comment below and vote for the MOC that best suits your individual taste. I will tally up the votes next Friday and declare a winner before announcing the next bout.

Last Week, on Friday Night Fights….

It was the battle of Gotham city, with a heavy dose of clown-on-clown violence.  In the end,  Kevin “The Rhino” Ryhal and his “The Joker’s Wild” scored a 9-3 victory over Taylor “The Tornado” Walker and his “The Joker”.   Kevin records his first win and improves his record to (1-0) while Taylor falls to (0-1).

  1. I really like the shapes in the head of “Makuta,” but the rest looks too busy to me. This blog has conditioned me to be very critical of those feet as well. My vote goes to “The Hermet” for its more organic look, especially in the hands and arms.

  2. Easy choice, even though I have never been a Buy-o-nickel fan.

My vote is for Makuta. Hermit looks like a Michael Bay Transformer, and I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan.

  3. I’m going with the Hermit. Both are pretty awesome (if you happen to like Bionicle), but the Hermit’s digitigrade legs and long skinny arms give it a more menacing, alien look.

  4. Makuta has some very pleasing flair here and there, yet lacks in originality and aesthetic consistency compared to the Hermit. In my opinion, the Hermit is the better MOC.

  5. I have to admit that I always liked the Bionicle sets; however, seeing builds like these, I can completely understand why people hate this stuff. There just doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for all the nonsensical texturing. These are just walking greebles.

I vote for the Hermit because it seems to celebrate the weirdness with its proportions.
