Friday Night Fights [Round 29]

Welcome back fight fans, to Sin City Nevada for another cloven skull edition of Friday Night Fights! This week’s bout is the battle of the Brothers Brick Blades, with experience points and Treasure Type J on the line.  Without further preamble, let’s go to the tale of the tape.

Fighting out of the red corner, from somewhere in the air ducts of the Brothers Brick Headquarters, it’s Deus “El Diablo” Otiosus and his “Functional LEGO sword (DEADLY!!!)”.

And fighting out of the blue corner, from the frappuccino bar inside the Brothers Brick Headquarters (where today’s flavor is always vanilla), it’s Nick “The Brick” Jensen and his “Complex Solution.

As usual, constant reader, you are tasked with deciding the outcome of this pugilistic endeavor and determine who will receive a week’s worth of bragging rights.  Simply leave a comment below and vote for the model that best suits your individual taste. I will tally up the votes next Friday and declare a winner.

Last time, on Friday Night Fights….

It was the battle of the intercessor, with veneration and beatification on the line.  In the end, “Ravager” Red and his “ST. 5065746572scored a decisive 7-4 victory over “El Carnicero” Cameron  and his “ST. 4142524148414D”.  Red scores his first victory (1-0) while Cameron runs his record to (0-1).

  1. Deus because it looks like a Conan sword. I also like the title and need to work in (DEADLY!!!) into casual conversation.

Complex Solution gives me FF7 weeaboo vibes… pass.

    1. Dam you sir!

You thrust this choice upon me… like a blade thrust into my very heart!

And its so swordy and pointy that it really hurts! This is no mere contest of MOCs… nay! It is a contest of MEN! A virtual shower of power! But hush…I’m moved to song!

Really… really I am torn. Deus? The Teutonic menace of the forest beyond Rome’s walls? His long blond… wig… obscuring his muscled brow? His… felt…robes? Draped across his long boney legs… legs splayed in a fighting stance! What is the power of Lego compared to the hand of the AFOL that wields it? His name, a thunderclap that shatters empires! Deus! Though the gods MOC you… you stand defiant (with… what are those? Runes around your fire? Really? Nice detail man).

But against this living visage of ancient masculine aggression… a vision of gleaming techno-swordyness! Nick! Calm. Pensive even. His eyes gazing at a distant possibility… even as his mind perceives how to create that possibility. I would say exciting… but I think its more like watching a capacitor charge up… moments before bursting into flying animated sword swinging action! Can he stop the Teuton? Will he arrive in the NICK OF TIME?

      You control the action!

But… I control my vote… and by what gods may be… I vote… Nick! That pose and that face slay me… but really, his sword looks cooler.

      Attack!

  2. I might have had to think about this a little if not for the accompanying pictures showing the builders posing with their swords. This is hands-down going to Deus the Barbarian.

  3. I wanted to say that I’m voting for the most socially awkward pose, but that is even splitting hairs… I’m going for Nick though, just because he accepts his nerdly ways and shows his face. Duce is hiding behind a mop of hair (that is Duce, right?). He needs to go enroll in Conan the Barbarian’s finishing school…

  4. Keith, did you just blog something approaching cosplay?

I like the design of the Destiny 2 sword, but Deus’s photo shoot makes this no contest. One more for the red corner.

  5. Deus seems to be yelling, “I rolled an 18, now I can have sex!” Whereas Nick seems to be thinking, “Yeah, Nutella.”

    So, Nick.

I got nothin’ else extending beyond drunken laughter.

    1. Nick seems to be thinking “Yeah, Nutella” is so spot on. And that is no battle sword, it’s the mother of all Nutella spreaders. Bring on the crepes!!!
